I was thinking what to blog for this “My holidays moment” Contest, so i start digging up all the “February-to-March”Photos, being a blogger, i will loads of photos! So i decided to blog this way instead. Enjoy =)
First page is more about leaving school. 1st of Feb is the last day of Semester 2. This is the day when we say good bye to our current class and say Hi to our NEW class…Also we welcome 7th of Feb, Chinese New Year!!! Time to collect Ang Pows and meet with our relatives! How much did YOU collect this year?
March was a significent month for me!!! The long-waited Viwawa blogging contest winner was announced, and it was ME! I won an Ipod shuffle =) My photo was published in the March issue of Viwawa newsletter. During March,i also had dinner with my Best friends, we went to Swensens @ Bugis, Everyone had so much to tell one another, to end the day, we took Neoprints =)
The Weather for March was SO HOT, where is the best place to chill out? I suggest, the Newly opened Kallang Leisure Park, Ice Skating! This Ice skating rink is Singpore’s 2nd Rink. My cousin and i had so much fun there! THe long awaited Steven Chow’s CJ7 is Released! Caught it with my family, it’s definitely a nice and touching show. Catch my review here!
My Mum suggested taking the DHL balloon. *So Random* The next thing i know, we bought 4 tickets for the “flight” It was such an experience, First time in a “Hot Air Balloon” Rising to a height of 180m, the view was magnificient!
Where to think i get all those money to fund my Outings?! I work throughout the 2 months, i won’t say where i work, but can you guess from my uniform, Primary and Secondary school reopens, Business isn’t very good. Less Business = Boring, so i had to find things to entertain myself. Before School reopen, i had to go all the way to ACER (p.s: it’s @ Jurong East) just to fix my laptop…
Alright, that’s all for my holiday moments. To know more about what’s going on in my life, YOU can visit my blog @ http://youthinkicarewhatyousay.blogspot.com/. The ENd.
I enjoyed my holidays, throughly.
Sure, I didn’t succeed in getting a job ( my initial intention was to get a night job so i could countinue working even as school reopens) , but bummer, no luck in that.
Most of my holidays was spent drinking and going out at night with my friends. Was it productive? I think not. Was it fun? Hell yeah.
Still, who is to say what is productive and what is not. To me, the top priority I have during holidays would be to make the holidays feel as stretched out as possible. ‘ Time flies when you’re having fun‘ they say, I agree, but when there is so much flying, they’d be a jet lag aftermath.
And that, would make me feel as if my holidays didn’t just fly by so quickly. Just knowing that gives me the satisfaction I need.
The one thing I actually enjoy about holidays is the freedom I have. In a sense, It’s easier to sleep at night knowing that you don’t have to get up early for school the next day. Having ten weeks of this freedom enabled me to have the quiet time I needed, the time for me to write and blog, the time for me to reflect and to actually go out and have fun without worries.
Okay, enough about my nonsensical theories and perspectives.
//
Life certainly does have a sense of humour.
I’m walking away from Harrys’, the place where I was supposed to go for an interview at, (got shunned away because I came too late), and i’m thinking to myself ” Damn Adriel, when are you gonna get a job. ” .
I went to have a bowl of noodles some time later and after my noodles, out of nowhere, came a tipsy German sprouting nonsense with his inferior grasp of our language.
We, after a few minutes, concluded that he wanted to drink beer, and he was going to pay for our share. He wanted friends (:
So we rose to the occasion ( Who says ‘no’ to beer? ). Three bottles for 15. He pulled out a US 100 dollar note. It was rejected for obvious reasons.
And there i was, kindred soul, I paid for the beer and took the 100. I offered to give him change but he refused.
And deja vu for Josh when we ordered another 3 bottles.
So we both got a hundred US dollars for 15 sing each. Pretty good deal if i say so myself.
There i was, happily drinking beer and having a hundred in my pocket thinking to myself, ‘Feels like a darn dream. ‘ ( drink beer and get paid! It’s awesomer than those work-from-home-read-emails-and-get-paid nonsense)
Del came over after work and sat down. The tipsy German asked if he could kiss her. She said no.
He took her hand, i was thinking, Okay he’s westernized, hes’ gonna give it a little peck.
No way. He licked it. We laughed it off, hey, we had a hundred US each. (:
Then he told Del to ‘Go away’ after she rejected his gesture.
Jolyn wanted to do Shisha and coincidently Walter, thats his name, said he wanted Shisha as well. So we proceeded to the shisha place. Sahara Bar.
We were greeted with ” I’m sorry Sir, your friend is very intoxicated, we cannot serve him drinks. “
” No no, we just want Shisha. ” , Jolyn said with a sly, inconspicuous grin.
So we sat down. He beckoned for me to sit closer to him. It was an almost perfect pinkish gay moment, I felt the vibes blasting right in my face.
He came over and hugged me from the back. I stood up , he groped my wonderful ass ( you gotta touch it to believe it) . I backed off with a ‘ Woah woah woah. No gay shit man. ‘
And like a kid who never got that ice cream he longed for, he walked out, or rather bumped his way out of the bar.
And we fled. Like stray dogs.
I found it pretty funny that the only German I know is the vulgarities.
If only he spoke Spanish. Oh well.
So there you go. One of the memorable nights of my ten week break from school.

The Cry Of Victory
As I entered the student lounge, I was greeted with a bombastic welcome made by the Raffles Schools of Hospitality (RSH) OGLs. I did felt welcomed yet weird. As I was stationed to a group, I am pretty sure that many of us were clueless of who the person is seating beside, infront and behind you. The only thing I knew was I saw surrounded by pretty girls. Hehe! As in introvet person, I didn’t introduce myself, but a smile was always plastered on my face everytime people look at me.
At first, the spirit was way below average. Every freshmen was as quiet as a mice. The OGLs did had a hard time warming us up. But it was worth the try. They never give up and kept on cheering for us. The spirit they had was simply awsome. First thing I had on my mind was to be like them. I am here to enjoy the orientation and make new friends. That was my only aim. Ice breaking games lead by the OGLs was the time when I get to approach more people. From there my social circle begun to expand. It grew bigger when I was selected to be one of the dancer to perform at the Jam ‘n’ Hop Lawn Party. There is nothing better than making new friends.
On day two, it just gets better. The group bonded well together. The games organized by Team Republic, De Republic’s Edge, allowed me to venture the school deeper. We ran around school like mad dogs looking for stations. There will always be some group members who are unable to run ,due to medical conditions, but it is the time for group to give them encouragement. I believe that encougagement is the best possible things that can make people strive for more! That is why cheering is the ultimate secret for encouragement.
Breaking the Singapore Guiness Record was a success for Republican! 1,320 supporting Republican came to break the record by doing the Leap Frog. Although the first time was unsuccessfull, we managed to get down on history on the second leap. I am proud of myself, especially the Team Republic who came down to school, with stand Singapore’s all year round warm weather, to break the record. Everyone cheered when the record was broken. Now, we are waiting to get a thumbs up from Guiness World Record. Lets all Team Republic pray that we get the recognition from Guiness World Record.
And here comes the best part. The Jam ‘n’ Hop Lawn Party. Before the party, I was exhausted from all the running, cheering, dancing, lack of sleep and more. I felt worn out and sick. All I want to do was to get on my bed. However once I get on the stage, everything changes. The crowed was better than awsome! The support from the crowed, especially the cheer RSH-ians was like a shower of energy to me. I was recharged, instantly! That is what I call the magic of a cheer! When the music starts, I gave my all! I was having the time of my life! The music, lightings, crowed and the atmosphere was amazingly fabulous! It was something that I have never felt before. It was better than OUTRAGEOUS! EXTRAVAGANT! WILD!
Lastly the results for the Champion school. Right before the announcement was made, I was all nervous. My legs were all weak. Everyone was quiet and all they want was to hear their school name to be called out. When RSH was pronounce the champion, everyone was all overjoyed. Each any everyone of us were jumping up and down cheering out RSH! I was on cloud nine. For some reason I don’t know why, a blanket of tears started forming in my eyes as tears started rolling down my cheeks. This was the first time I felt Victory as a team! It was extremely indescribable. There is no word in the dictionary that could describe my emotions. That is why I called this post, “The Cry Of Victory”
I am really greatfull of RSH. Especially the OGLs. They provide me an exceptionally unforgettable experience. Instead of declaring them as my friends, they are more like a family to me.
Right from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU OGLs and RSH very much! I really appreciate your overwhelming effort very much!
I love you guys!
And,
Raffles Schools Of Hospitality ROCKS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
With Love,
PrincSJ.
