We had the pleasure of hosting some students from Evergreen Secondary School. They arrived early in the morning to attend talks about some of our diplomas before going on a tour of our labs, the Anatomy Museum as well as our very posh Raffles Hospitality Centre (RHC).
Have you taken a look in the Anatomy Museum? If you haven’t, you really should. There was one exhibit showing a normal lung vs a smokers’ lung. Some of the girls were horrified to find out the lungs were real.. Not human, of course. It belonged to a pig.. But it was enough for some of them who swore they’d never smoke now that they’ve seen such a gruesome thing.
I’ve never been to RHC myself so I tagged along to find out more. And guess what, it really looks like a hotel. There’s a spa lab, a kitchen, a dining area, guest room and front counter. A pity I couldn’t try the hydrobath (Read: Mini-Jacuzzi)! It looks like everyone had a good time, including our staff members. We were sad to see the fun-loving students of Evergreen Secondary School board the bus at the end of their visit, but hey – they promised to come for Open House in Jan 2010 *grin*
