Hello all! This blog would serve as a brief summary of Bootymon production, and Bootymon production would serve as our production brand.
The team was formed based on the interest to do work on a project that involves both video and audio elements, which result to the idea of producing s short film production, the Bootymon project.
The team consists of four students enrolled in the course, diploma in sonic arts and a fellow student enrolled in digital new media. The reason for this formation of team is formed is due to learn and experience the art of making a film during the sixteen days of our project progress.
Knowing that our direction was to go into the area of mixed media that involves both sound and video aspect, the team brainstorm ideas that would showcase both aspect of mediums for us to work on.
The team manages ourselves by assigning task to each team member to think of a possible project proposal that we could work on.
These are the possible list of ideas we thought of during our first meeting,
Experimental film
Video art
Short film
Soundscape design
The project chosen to be developed was a possible short film project about drug trafficking, however our project proposal got declined, which lead to a discussion with Luke, a facilitator of DSA, which help us brainstorm on a possible direction to work at, which would benefit us in the future as our possible portfolio. Luke went on to help us brainstorm on ideas to a possible interesting story to work with, by combining all of our unforgettable moments in our life.
Hence the team brainstorm on ideas and areas to work at, and with our combined story, we developed a storyline regarding two friends whom shares a strong bond of friendship and faces reality of life.
Stay tuned for more info on our progress.

New Year Resolutions
You may be wondering… We are still in 2009, and it’s not even Christmas, yet I am talking about New Year Resolutions.
But think again… We are less than 10 days away from 2010!(Are you excited about the new year?)
Have you fulfilled your resolution for this year? If you have done so, Congratulations!
If you have not done so, are you postponing the resolutions to 2010? Or are you coming up with new ones?
For me, my 2009 New Year Resolution is well fulfilled.
Though 2009 is a busy and relatively bad year in a way or another to us.. because of H1N1 and Economic Crisis, we must not forget that good things like APEC 2009 happened.
But for me, I am studying in my dream course.. though admittedly, RP was not my first. But as time passed, I grew to love this place and am very comfortable where I am right now.
This was one of my resolutions: To get into my ideal course in a polytechnic.
2009 has been a busy year for me. I have done several things as an RP student. I started building my network with filmmakers, and worked on a Corporate Video. I was also involved in National Day Parade 2009 and APEC 2009, as part of my learning process and experience.
Even with H1N1 and the Economic Crisis, life has to go on and don’t you forget to live to the fullest!
So what’s next for 2010?
I expect it to be another busy year. With involvement in major events like Youth Olympic Games, I hope to work on new productions and have video opportunities related to my course in RP.
Everyone has a Resolution for 2010…I have Mine…What’s Yours?
The festive season is here again! To promote environmental awareness during the festive celebrations, Conservation IG has a poster to share on green practices you can adopt this Christmas. Together, we can make a difference to this planet!

After Christmas:
Do make an effort to recycle all of your bottles, cans, tins, cardboard and paper.
Goodness! What a year it’s been! It’s now just a week from Christmas. Which means it’s 3 weeks from our Annual Open House.
For those who have been reading your emails (Ha! I know some students who don’t), we need YOUR help! Yes, you. We need your help to bring friends/cousins/strangers on the street, if you dare, who are secondary school students to Open House 2010.
Pledge to bring secondary school students you know to RP’s Open House here <–CLICK!
And what’s in it for you and your guests? A thank-you present from us, of course! Come to our registration counter right outside RPC with your pledged guests and get to receive either a subway cookie or a cutesy teddy bear.
For those who have no idea what’s going to happen during this very exciting event, check out the list below:
